Smagam Itinerary

Vaheguru ji ka Khalsa, Vaheguru ji ki Fateh

Ik Onkaar, Sat GurPrasaad,
2009 TO Sanjha Samaagam

With Guru Sahibs Blessings, this year’s 2009 TO Sanjha Samaagam will be from Thursday, July 16 to Sunday, July 19 at Old Rexdale Gurughar on 47 Baywood Rd., Rexdale Ontario.

Samaagam Objective – bring Youth and Elders together in one Sangat to share each others knowledge, and sing guru sahibs praises. The importance of becoming Sikh, adapting a routine of a gursikh, and applying this in our everyday life. Obtain an atmosphere where we can all progress our own spiritual growth and sit in Sangat of elder Gursikhs and Maharaj himself, Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

Why it is needed?

Awakening – for the Chardee Kala of the Khalsa Panth!

Kirtanees – certain compromises have been put into account in terms of ‘code of conduct’ to respect various Jatha views.

* All Kirtanees must be at least rehatdhari/amritdhari to be given Seva. Singhs should have proper guru’s Dastaar tied, where Kaurs Keski is not mandatory, however a Patka or proper Chuni is mandatory that is stable and covering your whole head.
* All Kirtanees are encouraged to wear proper bana (ie. Suits/kurta/cholai)
* Absolutely NO ear piercings/tattoos – Extreme Jewellry and make-up will also be monitored.
* Your ONLY guru is Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj and you abide by the basic principles of Sikhi – if you do not believe this, you will not be given seva.
* Seva will be given to kids, youth and elders however, due to time constraints and satisfaction of all jathas, a ‘Keertanee list’ will be maintained by chosen sevadaars.
* Hence, Kirtan Seva will only be given keeping in mind the above requirements.

Degh/Guru Saahibs Seva – this includes everything from Prakaash to Sukhaasan Di Seva.

* Degh Seva will only be done by rehitvaan Amritdhari Gursikhs open to both Singhs and Kaurs.
* Prakaash/Sukhaasan Di seva will also be done by Amritdhari Gursikhs.
* Chaur Sahib Seva will be monitored (ie. Kesi-isnaan? Socks off, Jewelry etx…)

Bani Uchaaran – including morning and evening Nitnem Banis.

* Morning Nitnem – Japji Sahib, Jaap Sahib, Tav Prasad Savaiyai, Chaupai Sahib, Anand Sahib
* Evening – Full Rehras Sahib (including full Chaupai Sahib) and Kirtan Sohila.

Vaheguruu ji ka khalsa, Vaheguruu ji ki fateh !!

Vaheguru

hoe eikathr milahu maerae bhaaee
dhubidhhaa dhoor karahu liv laae
Come and join together, O my Siblings of Destiny;

dispel your sense of duality and let yourselves be lovingly absorbed in the Lord.

har naamai kae hovahu jorree
guramukh baisahu safaa vishhaae 1
Let yourselves be joined to the Name of the Lord;
become Gurmukh, spread out your mat, and sit down. 1
